What to expect

Every project is collaborative, purpose-driven, and, most of all, fun.

After the initial phone call, we'll meet for coffee, wine, or whatever you fancy. We’ll talk about the purpose and the shooting plan.

I’ll create a style board and bring on talent where needed.

The shoot is friendly and fun, encouraging everyone to bring their best.

We will make the final selection of photos together, and then I will edit them to be ready for use.

Is a photo shoot with a pro worth it?

Of course! And I'm not saying that just because I am a photographer. Our websites and social media outlets are our shopfronts now - make them look good. When did you last want to buy something from a messy, generic, confusing or boring store? People have so much choice through the web - it's well and truly worldwide now - so give them a reason to stay. Tell them your story.

People only have a limited attention span with all the information overload we receive now. You have to get their attention within seconds. 'A photograph tells a thousand words'.

What about 'bang for buck'?

Yes. I have been in business for over 20 years and have many repeat customers. I accept bank transfers, PayPal and Stripe. We can also organise payment plans.

But I can get it cheaper elsewhere.

The old saying goes, 'You get what you pay for'. I realise some people charge a lot less, but as a professional, I offer security and peace of mind that you will get images that 'wow.'

Licencing and copyright options.

Video, social media content, contact sheets, retouching, archiving, and backups. I don't guarantee my backups, but I keep at least two of your purchased images. After a few years, a client rang me asking if I could help with lost images, and I was able to help.

Specialisation and knowledge in working on location, with talent and everyday people

Experience in photographing on the fly with people I have just met - making them feel at ease and have fun

What experience do you have?

I have over 25 years of experience in the industry.

Before owning my own business, I worked with a wedding studio, school photo group, with guests on an international cruise liner in the Greek Islands and on the road photographing kids in malls in SA, NT, VIC and NSW in Australia.

I was staff at News Limited and photographed events, portraits, news stories, and the Commonwealth Games, among other advertorials, editorials, and associated imagery for newspapers and magazines.

I have worked with many magazines in Australia. This requires me to think on my feet, develop rapport with my subject within minutes, and think creatively to build layout options quickly.

I rarely work with models. I know people, I understand them, and I make them comfortable having their photos taken. To you, this means a significant cost reduction in talent fees.

What do you do differently?

Have fun! Why shouldn't a shoot be fun to organise and do? It will produce the best results when everyone is having fun and relaxed. Talent loves it, and people not used to being photographed often forget about the camera. True smiles.

I listen to what you need and offer suggestions if necessary. This ensures that you get the best results for your money.

I use natural talent as often as possible. I know how to make them comfy in front of the lens. We laugh, and we create realistic moments that your clients will believe (likely because they are real).

I'm not sure what I need. Can you help?

Let me know what you want. Please show me what you have. I'll look at your website, work out a budget, and then we can proceed from there. I'll make it work.

I know what I want, but I'm unsure how long it will take.

Tell me more, and I'll give you a guesstimate and the options that will affect the time and shoot length. Need it in concrete? I can do that, too. Whatever works for you, let's make it as easy as possible.

Can you help with talent?

Yes. I can post a call on social media and help you do it, too. A little incentive for potential talent doesn't hurt, either.
